Live and Local with Amanda Pearl
Monday – Friday, 2 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Amanda Pearl has always been passionate about music. She started in radio at an Oldies station when she was 16 and quickly learned the ropes in commercial production. It was there that she also got her chance to be on air as a weekend personality, and she was immediately hooked. Over the next few years she gained more radio experience working with different formats and demographics.
Radio is where her heart is and she is lucky enough to look forward to going to work every day.
Questions We Asked Amanda:
What is the song you will never get tired of? So many favorites out there….but probably a tie between “Imagine” by John Lennon (it reminds me of my dad. I love when he sings it!), and “Different People” by No Doubt.
What is the most random thing that you do in your spare time? Go to the movies alone. I get the weirdest reactions when I say I do, that but I LOVE it. Especially chick flicks that I cannot drag anyone to.
What is your favorite smell? Salty air at the beach. Or suntan lotion. Those usually go together. Oh, and pine trees..I am a sniffer
What is your favorite place to go in the Historic Triangle? Any place I can get in the water is where I need to be. Merchants Square and downtown are also immediate mood boosters for me; I love the atmosphere. It is great to live in a place where people vacation.
What is something you have never done? Cut the grass. I tried to cut the grass once when I was young and I crashed the lawn mower into our back deck. True story.
What is your favorite vacation so far? Germany for Oktoberfest! It is such a beautiful country and everyone should go to Oktoberfest before they die…it is a blast.
If you weren’t working in radio, what would you be doing? Event planning. I DJ for weddings and events on the weekends and I love seeing all the planning fall into place and the style come together. Each and every event is different. But I love radio too much to leave it so that will stay a hobby
